Taking on its rival Zoom App, a video conferencing application owned by an American corporation, Mukesh Ambani launched JioMeet under the name of his firm Reliance Jio. The indigenous app is now out of Beta mode and is available for public use on various app stores including Google Play Store and Apple Store. Just like Zoom App, JioMeet lets you conduct video conferencing with over 100 participants without requiring any additional hardware input. It also became first of its kind of home-grown application in India to provide video conferencing services.

With Work From Home becoming the new normal amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the need for a secure and reliable video conferencing app was growing among the corporates. To help you make an informed decision while jumping from Zoom to JioMeet, we have jotted down some of the upsides that the Reliance-owned VC app has to offer.

In this blog, we are summing up some reasons why you should use JioMeet instead of Zoom App for your video conferencing need.

1. JioMeet is purely Make in India

Amid rising tensions between India and China, it becomes our moral responsibility to root for Indian companies and home-grown products. For our video conferencing requirements, we have long been dependent on US or China-based apps. It’s time to take a leap and start using domestic products and boost our local economy. Being a Make in India brand and developed by a reliable Indian firm, JioMeet ticks all the boxes.

 2. You can join a meeting without signing up

If you don’t want the hassles of signing up on an app before joining the meeting, JioMeet has your back. You can join a meeting on JioMeet with or without singing up. Even for creating an account on the application, you just need a phone number and an email ID.

3. JioMeet provides 24 hour meeting for FREE

Unlike other video conferencing platforms, JioMeet lets you conduct a video conferencing even for 24 hours without charging anything. Other platforms have a time limit for free meeting.

4. Video Conferencing on JioMeet is password protected

To avoid privacy invasions, JioMeet’s video conferences are password protected. Every meeting hosted on the platform requires a unique password to enter.

5. JioMeet comes with Safe Driving Mode

Most of us often attend important video conferences while driving our way to somewhere. This often poses a safety threat of accidents and mishap. The Safe Driving Mode feature of JioMeet will help those who attend meeting while driving.

6. JioMeet is better with privacy issues

Privacy and data security were few of many issues people had with Zoom App. JioMeet on the other hand has chalked out a comprehensive privacy policy on its official page, letting users know what kind of data will be shared with the company. The users will share personal name, age, gender, contact information, system details, hardware identifiers with the company. JioMeet will also access your location, phone statistics, conferencing logs and history.
